Cyclades Chamber of Commerce has to take the initiative for the permanent and immediate solution to the energy problems of the non-interconnected islands (NII) with reference to:

• The economic development of the area through active and equal participation of local communities (profits from the investment and exploitation of natural resources return back to local communities)
• Secure the protection of the Cycladic natural environment and the service of common interest
• Improve the life standard of the inhabitants

To achieve goals mentioned above, the Chamber of Cyclades researched the worldwide energy market and is able to ensure a feasible plan (high tech Hybrid Network Configuration Stations using modern batteries) adapted to the specificities of NII’s and has prepared according studies.

The benefits from the implementation of this proposal are obvious. These include:

• Detach production costs from the price of oil while reducing emissions.
• Use of surplus energy to other actions of public benefit like charging electric vehicles, desalination, cooling-heating public buildings etc.
• Economic benefits to local communities from the investment.
• Job creation.
• International tourist promotion of the islands as "green" and create conditions for further growth, followed by other similar actions to this end.
